THE FIRST LUMINOUS MYSTERY:
THE BAPTISM OF OUR LORD

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the desert of Judea and saying “Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” (Matt. 3:1-2)

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Then people from Jerusalem, all of Judea, and all the region around the Jordan went out to him.  They were baptized by him in the Jordan, confessing their sins. (Matt. 3:5-6)

“I indeed baptize you with water for repentance.” But he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to bear.” (Matt. 3:11)

“He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” (Matt. 3:11)

Then Jesus came from Galilee to John, at the Jordan, to be baptized by him. (Matt. 3:13)

But John would have hindered him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and you come to me?” (Matt. 3:14)

But Jesus, answering, said to him, “Allow it now, for this is the fitting way for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed him. (Matt. 3:15)

Jesus, when he was baptized, went up directly from the water: and behold, the heavens were opened to him. (Matt. 3:16)

He saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove, and coming on him.  (Matt. 3:16)

A voice out of the heavens said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” (Matt. 3:17)

THE SECOND LUMINOUS MYSTERY: THE WEDDING FEAST AT CANA

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

There was a marriage in Cana of Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there (John 2:1)

Jesus also was invited, with his disciples, to the marriage. When the wine ran out, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no wine.” (John 2:2-3)

Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does that have to do with you and me? My hour has not yet come.” (John 2:4)

HAIL MARY

His mother said to the attendants, “Do whatever he tells you.” (John 2:5)

HAIL MARY

Now six stone water-jars were placed there, after the Jewish manner of purification [each holding two or three measures (20-30 gallons)] (John 2:6)

Jesus said to them, “Fill the jars with water.” And they filled them to the brim. (John 2:7)

HAIL MARY

And Jesus said to them, “Now draw from it, and carry it to the chief steward of the feast.” And they took it to him. (John 2:8)

Then, when the chief steward had tasted the water made into wine, since he did not know where it was from, for only the servants who had drawn the water knew, the chief steward called the bridegroom. (John 2:9)

And He said to him, “Everyone serves the good wine first, and when the guests have drunk freely, then that which is worse. But You have kept the good wine until now!” (John 2:10)

This was the beginning of the signs that Jesus accomplished in Cana of Galilee, and it manifested his glory, and his disciples believed in him. (John 2:11)

THE THIRD LUMINOUS MYSTERY:
THE PROCLAMATION OF THE KINGDOM

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Jesus came into Galilee preaching the Gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent and believe in the Gospel.” (Mark 1:14-15)

“Unless a man be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.” (John 3:5)

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven” (Matt 5:3)

 “Blessed are they who suffer persecution for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matt 5:10)

“Unless your righteousness exceeds that of the Scribes and Pharisees, you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven.” (Matt 5:20)

 “The Kingdom of Heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls. When he finds a single pearl of great price, he goes and sells all that he has and buys it.” (Matt 13:45-46)

“Children, how hard it is for those that trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God!”  (Mark 10:24)

THE FOURTH LUMINOUS MYSTERY:
THE TRANSFIGURATION

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Jesus took Peter, James and his brother John and led them up a high mountain by themselves and was transfigured before them (Matt 17:1)

And his face shone as the sun and his garments became white as snow. (Matt 17:2)

And behold there appeared to them Moses and Elijah talking together with him. (Matt 17:3)

Now Peter and his companions were heavy with sleep. But when they were fully awake, they saw his glory and the two men who were standing with him. (Luke 9:32)

Then Peter addressed Jesus saying “Lord it is good for us to be here. Let us set up three tents here, one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah” (Matt 17:4)

As he was still speaking, behold a bright cloud overshadowed them. (Matt 17:5)

And behold a voice out of the cloud said “This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear him.” (Matt 17:5)

And on hearing it the disciples fell on their faces and were exceedingly afraid. (Matt 17:6)

And Jesus came near and touched them and said to them, “Arise, and do not be afraid.” (Matt 17:7)

And suddenly looking round, they no longer saw anyone with them but only Jesus. (Mark 9:8)

THE FIFTH LUMINOUS MYSTERY:
THE INTRODUCTION
OF THE EUCHARIST

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Jesus said “I am the bread of life”. (John 6:35)

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

“He who comes to me shall not hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst.”  (John 6:35)

HAIL MARY

“He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has life everlasting and I shall raise him up on the last day.” (John 6:54)

HAIL MARY

“For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed” (John 6:56)

HAIL MARY

And while they were at supper, Jesus took bread and blessed and broke it, and gave it to his disciples and said (Matt 26:26)

“This is my body which is being given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” (Luke 22:19)

And taking a cup, he gave thanks and gave it to them, saying (Matt 26:27)

“This is my blood of the new covenant which shall be shed for many.”  (Mark 14:24)

“Do this as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” (1 Cor 11:25)

For as often as you shall eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the death of the Lord, until he comes. (1 Cor 11:26)

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins; save us from the fires of Hell; lead all souls to Heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy!

HAIL HOLY QUEEN, Mother of mercy, Our life, our sweetness, and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve. To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy towards us. And after this, our exile, show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary.

V. Pray for us oh holy mother of God. 
(This line is read by one person when the Hail Holy Queen
is being recited in a group setting.)
R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. 
(This line is the response given by the group.)

"LET US PRAY: O God, whose only begotten Son, by his life, death and resurrection, has purchased for us the rewards of eternal life, grant, we beseech thee, that meditating upon these mysteries of the most holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.”

May the Divine Assistance remain always with us, and may the souls of the Faithful Departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
